About Us

The Teignmouth WI welcomes all women to share, learn and enjoy good company.

We normally meet once a month on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm.

We meet at the New Road Community Centre (The Richard Newton Hall), Upper Buckeridge Road, Teignmouth.

At our meetings we have a programme of speakers, as well as an occasional Bring and Buy stall, a Bookstall, a raffle, a monthly competition and our President's Quiz - and, of course, tea and biscuits!

Our programme of speakers is varied and interesting, ranging from a talk on work in UK prisons, to Clog Morris dancing, to Osteopathy and Muffin the Mule and Friends, with much more planned for the months ahead.

We have regular events throughout the year – theatre trips, days out, the February Soup and a Crust, the Ploughman's Lunch in May, pub lunches and evening meals once a month, our Harvest supper in October, the August Cream Tea and our Christmas Party. We also run coffee mornings at member’s homes with all proceeds going to charity.

Our Bright Sparks sessions on a Thursday afternoon continue through the autumn and winter and we have held workshops ranging from Tying a Headscarf in 41 Different Ways to First Steps in Crochet.

Membership to HTWI is currently £39 per year, January to December.  You can join at any of our meetings and can pay by cash or cheque. Visitors are welcome to attend our meetings with a suggested donation of £3 per visit.

As part of your membership you also receive subscription to WI Life Magazine which comes out 8 times a year and to the Devon Federation WI magazine. We also publish our own Newsletter - The Grapevine.

We would love to meet you - to find details of our meetings and events, follow the link on the sidebar.
