The cream tea was a great success with over 50 members attending along with guests. The catering team made beautiful scones and they were enjoyed very much by everyone.

The theme was teddy bears picnic and there was no shortage of beautiful bears brought along.

The Deputy Mayor and the Deputy Mayoress- Paul and Nicky Burgess ( See photo below)  were guests of honour and they were asked to judge the Bears and choose the happiest and saddest bear. There was also a flower in a shell competition. The towns previous Mayoress Jackie Orme also came along.

Looking Good Feeling Great

On Wednesday night we enjoyed a really interesting and even inspirational talk from Lizzie Fox, image consultant and personal stylist on how to look good and consequently to feel great.

Lizzie took us through the different skin/colour types and linked these to the colours that really look good on you.  She had some volunteers to represent each type and this demonstration of which colours make you look your best and which don't was very interesting.

Lizzie also touched on body shape and how to work with the shape you are. She gave us practical hints and advice.

Lizzie also did a make up demonstration on one of our ladies, showing us how to use gentle colours on lighter skin tones, I think we all learned something.

It was also a fun evening with lots of laughs.   Lizzie was able to put across her message which is

“We are who we are – so let’s make the very best of ourselves"
