Delicious Dinner at Dairy Maid

A lively group of us enjoyed a delicious meal last night at the Dairy Maid in Teignmouth.  The seafood and fish were especially good but everyone seemed to enjoy their choices to judge by the clean plates at the end!

A very enjoyable evening!

WI Centenary Wall Hanging

Maureen and Pam attended the Spring Council Meeting yesterday and were excited to see our Teignmouth WI contribution to the Centenary Wall Hanging.  

Ours is the second down on the left - well done, Angela and Maureen for all their hard work - it looks great.

Our Group Meeting is to be held on Wednesday 23rd September and the organisers are going to ask to have the Wall Hanging displayed there.  So come along and see it!

Chinese Brush Art with Lisa Class

Last evening at a very well attended Members Meeting, we were fascinated to listen to Lisa explain how she came to do Chinese Brush Art.  Lisa also gave us a practical demonstration of the equipment she uses and how she creates a painting.  This was so interesting and we were amazed at how, with so few lines and so swiftly, Lisa was able to evoke the spirit of what she was painting.

Lisa has offered to run a workshop on a Saturday morning for a group of up to 12 people so if you are interested, let me know and we will try to arrange something.

Our competition to bring in an unusual Chinese item was very well supported and we had a colourful display.  Many thanks to all those members who ransacked the attic and brought items in.
