Spring Council Meeting. Torquay

Maureen Hunter and I attended the Spring Council meeting in Torquay yesterday.  It was an enjoyable and entertaining day with nearly a thousand members and delegates all gathered together.  It certainly gave us a feeling of solidarity and sisterhood.

Our members had entered the writing competition and the hat competition but unfortunately none of us were successful.  However, the display of hats was quite amazing although the flashier ones did not win and it was a subtle hat in browns and creams which was the eventual winner.  Of course, I am always impressed by bling so all my photos are of the flashy hats.  The judges however were more discriminating and were looking for the quality of the knitting.  Maureeen G's hat was amazing and looked great

The speakers were all very entertaining especially the keynote speaker, Kate Humble who kept us all amused with her life story, career highs  and humorous anecdotes.
